Overview
This two-part training will equip participants with the skills to guide clients through the process of obtaining and maintaining tenancy including the rental application and approval process, understanding client’s rights and responsibilities, landlord tenant conflict resolution, and available rental assistance resources. Participants will also learn the protocols for counseling tenants and homeowners, including those in financial crisis facing default by providing them with timely and accurate guidance to navigate through credit challenges, and to access resources that can help them move beyond the crisis. Participants will learn to navigate through the critical aspect of the loss mitigation process, and the options available to homeowners with an FHA, VA, USDA and GSE loans. Additionally, participants will be equipped to assist their clients with an impending eviction or foreclosure, in securing temporary housing and accessing available resources to transition into permanent housing.

This Pre-Purchase counseling training for multi-family residential property online course is designed for HUD approved counseling agencies interested in learning the skills clients will need to effectively manage their rental units and meet their obligations as landlords while observing federal, state and local laws and regulations. To be eligible for the full tuition scholarship you must be employed by a HUD approved counseling agency when you register. After completing the registration form, your will receive a confirmation message. Once your application is reviewed and approved, you will receive a welcome email with the instructions to join the free online training course.
